Thanks to Jeff Gamet for having Barry and me on TMO Daily Observations Podcast to discuss Macstock and the Midwest Mac BBQ! Really appreciate the focus this week on boutique conferences and what we can offer to the Apple Community!
Apple conferences are about more than traveling to a different city to learn something new. Today Mike Potter from Mac Stock and Barry Fulk from the Midwest Mac BBQ join Jeff Gamet to talk about the community experience we get from conferences and why that makes smaller events more appealing to some attendees.

In addition to lunch on Saturday and Barry’s Midwest Mac BBQ Saturday night, when we added a second day this year, I wanted to put together a little continental breakfast for everyone on Sunday, but the feedback I’ve been getting tells me that most folks aren’t terribly interested in a continental breakfast, either because your hotels offer very similar breakfasts or you were looking for something a bit healthier than sweet cakes. Many of you were also worried you wouldn’t get to the conference center before the breakfast was over!
So with that in mind, I spoke with the great folks at MCC’s Luecht Conference Center and came up with a custom substitute that allows us to “pivot” a bit and switch over from a limited-serving-time continental breakfast to an all morning long “snack bar” instead! (more…)
Buckle Up and get ready for Road to Macstock 2016 with Chuck Joiner on this new episode of MacVoices!
We start a new series to celebrate and support Macstock Conference & Expo and The Midwest Mac BBQ with a visit by Mike Potter and Barry Fulk, the organizers of the two events. This year, they have combined to create a great weekend of tech education and socialization in the Chicago suburbs. Mike and Barry discuss why this year attending both events will be even easier, why it is now a two-day conference, and the roster of speakers. Everything attendees loved about last year’s event is back, and more. Find out why you need to be making your plans to attend now.
Huge thanks to Guy & Gaz for letting me join in on the fun and talk Macstock 2016 this week! Next time I’ll come better prepared with a Pick!
Soooo, yeah more Skype issues with Gaz (does his voice sound naturally deep to you too?) but the GMen don’t let it get in the way (much) with their interview with Mike Potter! Mike is not only the host of the For Mac Eyes Only podcast, but he’s also the creator of the Macstock Conference and Expo which will be taking place for round 2 on July 16th and 17th this year in Woodstock, Illinois. Guy WILL be there, Gaz MAY be there, will you?
