Macstock Speaker Update!

Oh sure, we thought the speaker lineup was complete, but Macstock 2016’s speaker lineup has been officially upped by 1!

Tom Piper at Macstock 2015And that “1” is Mr. Tom Piper, vendor liaison for the Apple User Group Advisory Board. Tom had originally been scheduled to give a “brief” on Apple User Groups as he did at Macstock 2015, but as Macstock is very much a community-driven event, it’s only appropriate to give Tom a full speaking slot at this year’s conference, so I’ve made a couple small schedule changes to help make that happen!

Tom will be joining all the other awesome speakers headed your way at Macstock this year including returning speakers from Macstock 2015, Allison Sheridan, Chuck Joiner, Guy Serle, Julie Kuehl, Dave Ginsburg and Tim Robertson as well as many names new to Macstock’s stage, but almost certainly not new to you including Victor Cajiao, Dr. Robert Carter, Wally Cherwinski, Adam Christianson, Melissa Davis, Allison Hartley, Matt Hillyer, Don McAllister, Mike Schmitz, Kirschen Seah, and Jodi Spangler!

So that means we’re up to 18 speakers — and Macstock 2016 is the only place to hear them all!

Be sure to check out the talks scheduled so far to see what we have planned for you at Macstock 2016.

Hope everyone can make it!

Mike

Macstock 2016 Wallpapers!

Thanks to the suggestion of one of Macstock 2016’s attendees, Jeff W., we’ve created a couple retina wallpapers for your Mac!

Presented in glorious 2880 x 1800 Retina MacBook Pro resolution, you can choose from one of two designs to help keep up the excitement for this year’s conference as we all wait for July to get here!

Design One features a subtle photo collage from Macstock 2015* in the background, while Design Two features only the tie-dye background.

If you like them let me know!

Macstock’s Speaker Lineup is Complete!

Macstock 2016 is coming fast and I’m so incredibly excited by the response to this year’s conference!

Since tickets sales opened for Macstock on January 1st, we’ve grown our lineup to a whopping 17 Speakers who will be giving some amazing talks this year covering all bases from STEM (Science and Technology in Education), to getting the most from apps like OmniFocus and Preview, to more advanced topics like Macs in the Enterprise!

IMG_0575_cropBut that’s only a sample of what you should expect to hear at Macstock 2016 because we’re featuring many of your favorite names from the Apple Community including returning speakers from Macstock 2015 like Allison Sheridan, Chuck Joiner, Guy Serle, Julie Kuehl, Dave Ginsburg and Tim Robertson!

We’ve also got many names new to Macstock, but almost certainly not new to you including Victor Cajiao, Dr. Robert Carter, Wally Cherwinski, Adam Christianson, Melissa Davis, Allison Hartley, Matt Hillyer, Don McAllister, Mike Schmitz, Kirschen Seah, and Jodi Spangler!

And the only place you’ll find all those great names together at one time this year is at Macstock! Be sure to check out the talks we have scheduled so far to see what we have planned for you at Macstock 2016. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

Macstock on BrettTerpstra.com!

Macstock received a great write-up at BrettTerpstra.com this week that perfectly encapsulates why we decided to launch Barry’s Midwest Mac BBQ and Macstock last year.

Brett writes:

I always loved attending Macworld, and almost entirely because of the people I’d meet and friends I’d see. Until yesterday, I thought the days we could all get together for some Mac love with a ton of my favorite Mac people were over.

Macstock is very much focused on what makes Apple products great: it’s users and that communal spirit folks traveled to Macworld each year to experience.

But we’re also focused on education. And with an expanded line-up of speakers this year, we’ve more than doubled the number of sessions covering topics as diverse as STEM (Science and Technology in Education), to getting the most from apps like OmniFocus and Preview, to more advanced topics like Macs in the Enterprise.

It’s really going to be a fantastic weekend for Apple fans and I hope everyone can make it. As Brett says, “the more the merrier”!
